Watawala Plantations Limited (WPL) is a pioneer Agri-business company in Sri Lanka. Watawala Plantations-compromises 16 of Sri Lankas finest tea gardens, it owns Sri Lankas largest rubber factory and the nation’s first palm oil processing facility.
The southern belt of Sri Lanka provides the most ideal conditions for oil palm cultivation. Almost all of Sri Lankas Oil Palm cultivation is done in the southern region. WPL oil palm processing facility is situated in the Nakiadeniya region in the South Western region. WPL produces over 7 million kg's per annum of crude palm oil which is exported from Sri Lanka.
